Student Game Day Plan

Students, as you plan out your game day weekend plans, make sure you take advantage of the following events and resources.   

Friday, Oct. 18

Mountaineer Friday

The celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow (Oct. 18) outside the Mountainlair as WVU gets ready to take on Kansas State in the Homecoming game. Stop by to get a picture with the Mountaineer mascot, shop for your official WVU gear at the WVU Bookstore pop-up shop and play games while enjoying music from U92 and more. Grab a beat Kansas State button from the Mountaineer Maniacs and mum buttons from the Alumni Truck.

You can also take advantage of some photo opportunities with the HOME letters or the PRT car in Woodburn Circle. Visit the food trucks stationed on Prospect Street to purchase some food and beverage items before the parade.

The WVU Bookstore invites the University community to come out this Friday from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. and see the newly remodeled bookstore on WVU’s Downtown campus. Enjoy 20% off your entire purchase. This offer is valid in-store on Friday only.

Food Trucks on Prospect 

All of this is sure to work up an appetite. Visit the food trucks stationed on Prospect Street to purchase some food and beverage items before the parade from 4:30-7 p.m.

Homecoming Parade

The annual Homecoming Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on High Street, featuring Duncan Lorimer and Maura McLaughlin from the Eberly College as the grand marshals, along with the Homecoming Court

WVUpAll Night

Students can stop by WVUp All Night this weekend from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. in the Mountainlair. On Friday, students can enjoy movie mania trivia with cash prizes, DIY crafts with the WOW! Factory, the movie “Twisters”,  a gaming lounge, a photo booth, Game Night, bowling and billiards, and more. The event is free to WVU students and their guests 17 and older. Saturday, October 19

The Student Lot

Students can attend the Student Lot located in the Oakland Hall/University Park Courtyard from 4:30 – 7p.m. Stop by to grab some free food and listen to music by DJ Bluestar. This event is co-sponsored by Office of Student Wellness. 

Student Life Tailgate Volunteers

Student Life Staff members will be volunteering in the Blue Lot. Staff members will be available to offer safety tips and lend a helping hand, when possible. Look for them if you’re needing assistance or need to report suspicious activity. 

Homecoming Royalty

Two students will be named “Homecoming Royalty” during a halftime ceremony at the football game against Kansas State University at Milan Puskar Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

WVUpAll Night

Students can stop by WVUp All Night this weekend from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. in the Mountainlair. On Saturday, students can enjoy trivia with cash prizes, DIY crafts with the WOW! Factory, a gaming lounge, a photo booth, Game Night, bowling and billiards, and more. The event is free to WVU students and their guests 17 and older. Sunday, October 20

Campus Rec Homecoming Trick or Trot

The 1-mile walk/run will start at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K run at 10 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 20) at the Student Rec Center. Costumes are encouraged and well-behaved dogs are welcome to join their humans. Not interested in running? You can still come and cheer on those who are.

Sign-up for the race and snag a shirt too!

The Alumni Association will host its Sundaes on Sunday after the event. It’s the perfect way to tie a bow on a great Homecoming week.
