Late start announced for classes Tuesday (Jan. 21) on WVU Morgantown Campus

Due to cold temperatures and icy conditions in the aftermath of snow, in-person classes on the West Virginia University Morgantown Campus will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 21).

This is a late start for classes only. On-campus operations will continue as scheduled.

Employees who work remotely or on a hybrid schedule are not affected and should continue their normal schedule. On-site employees should communicate with their supervisors to determine if they are required to work on site during the late start.

WVU Health Sciences faculty, staff and students who work in patient care areas or in clinical rotations should check with their dean, program director or clinic manager.

Once classes begin at 11 a.m., faculty members are asked to be flexible and understanding with students if they are unable to make it to classes.

“With the cold and snow, this late start for classes will allow our University employees a little more time to prepare campus for our students,” University Police Chief Sherry St. Clair said. “When venturing out, we ask all members of our University community to use caution in ice, snow and slush.”
