Friday (Jan. 24) is the last day students can opt out of First Day® Complete, a course materials fulfillment program created in partnership with Barnes and Noble College that lowers the cost of required course materials for undergraduate students.
Both full and part-time undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in the First Day® Complete program and must take action to unenroll from the program during the opt-out period. Students who opt-out will be responsible for purchasing course materials separately at a non-discounted rate, including all digital materials delivered in eCampus. After opting out, the program charge will be removed from your WVU MyAccount within three business days. If your bill has already been paid in full, the program payment will be refunded to you.
On average, students save 35-50% on course materials through First Day® Complete. However, there may be semesters when the flat fee exceeds the retail cost of course materials, in which case it is a better financial decision to opt out of the program for the semester.
Use the following steps to compare the pricing for individual books and access codes from Barnes and Noble to the First Day® Complete flat fee:
1. Visit the Course Material Finder on the WVU Bookstore website: https://wvu.bncollege.com/course-material/course-finder
2. Select your campus.
3. Select the Spring Opt-Out Term.
4. Enter your course information.
