WVU MIX email cannot be used to create or support personal Zoom accounts Dec. 3

A security change will be made Tuesday, Dec. 3 to prevent students and former students from using their WVU-issued @mix email accounts to create or maintain personal accounts on Zoom.

Personal Zoom accounts are accessed through zoom.us, while WVU-issued accounts are accessed through wvu.zoom.us. Moving forward, all WVU-issued @mix accounts must be accessed through wvu.zoom.us using Single Sign On (SSO).

On Dec. 3, anyone currently using a @mix account for a personal Zoom account will receive an email notification from Zoom with additional information. After that date, anyone using @mix accounts for personal Zoom accounts will be prompted at sign-in to either join the WVU Zoom domain or change their email address. You can defer a decision three times. After that, you must choose to join the WVU account or change the email address associated with your personal Zoom account.

For more information, view this article about personal Zoom accounts in the IT Help Center (WVU login credentials required). Please direct questions to ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu.
