WVU Dining Services adjusts entry pay rate for student workers

As part of efforts to attract and retain top talent, WVU Dining Services is adjusting its entry pay rate for student workers to $10 an hour, effective this fall.

The entry pay rate for those selected for catering positions also has been adjusted to $11 an hour, and student workers who support WVUp All Night will start at $12 an hour.

Further, student workers who previously worked in WVU Dining Services will receive an increase of $2 an hour if they resume employment in the first two weeks of classes. Prior WVU Dining Services student workers who return after the first two weeks of classes will receive an increase of $1.50 an hour.

Students can work up to 28 hours a week with WVU Dining Services (20 hours a week for international students), and they can work with their manager to set up a personalized schedule. Managers will be flexible and work around the student’s academic schedule.

Positions are available at the Evansdale, Downtown and Health Sciences campuses for weekdays and weekends. Morning, day and evening shifts are available.

No experience is necessary, as on-the job training will be provided for roles such as cashiers and food service workers.
