Welcome Week: 5 Things you should know

From the frenzy of residence hall move-in to an evening of relaxation at FoodFest and FallFest, Welcome Week promises unforgettable moments for new and returning students.

The fun starts Saturday, August 17 with  events for all WVU students (sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate and professional students, that means you, too!). Here's what you need to know:

  1. You'll Need the WVU Pass App and Wristband, Plus Your Mountaineer Card
Download the WVU Pass app from the Apple Store or Google Play. You'll need the app to get your Welcome Week wristband and receive notifications about events. We will also notify you via WVU Pass as soon as the FallFest lineup is announced.

We're using RFID wristbands for entrance to and distribution of refreshments at Mountaineer MovieFest, Monday Night Lights, FoodFest and FallFest. Plan to pick up your wristband when you get to campus.  Bring your wristband and your Mountaineer Card to Welcome Week events.  How to get your wristband →
  2. Freshmen and Transfer Students: Your Academic Session Info is Coming Soon
New undergraduate students will receive a message from their college, school or department with details about their mandatory academic session on Tuesday, August 20. Check your MIX email often!
  3. Plan Your Route
You may have favorite short-cuts and know your way around Morgantown, but for move-in day, please use the routes listed on the  Fall Move-In page. Use Google maps for directions to Morgantown and traffic conditions.  Campus maps are also available for download.
  4. Find New Friends in a Student Org
Join a club! Head over to the Student Organization Fair on Sunday, August 18 at the WVU Coliseum. Come for the fair at 6 p.m. and stay for MovieFest at 7:30 p.m. All students are invited to both events.
  5. Check the Schedule
There's a lot to choose from (and it's all free!), so browse the full schedule and find some options that appeal to you.
