WVUniverse presents 'Cosmic Burps in the Milky Way'

The Center for Gravitational Waves and Cosmology presents the May WVUniverse talk, Cosmic Burps in the Milky Way, featuring Duncan Lorimer, FRS.

WVUniverse is a series of public outreach talks exploring different scientific topics with an audience of all ages in mind. These talks are open to all and conclude with a fun trivia game with a chance to win prizes. No reservations are required. All are welcome!

Duncan Lorimer is an observational astronomer specializing in single-dish radio astronomy. Known for his contributions to pulsar astrophysics, and his role in the discovery of fast radio bursts, Lorimer's main research interests involve understanding the underlying populations of both pulsars and fast radio bursts and using them as tools for Galactic astronomy and Cosmology.

Lorimer currently holds the rank of Professor of Physics and Astronomy at WVU.
