Seniors: Do you have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher?

In 1995, the WVU Foundation, Inc. established a recognition program to commemorate its 40th anniversary of service to WVU and to honor outstanding graduating seniors by designating them as WVU Foundation Outstanding Seniors. Students who meet the following qualifications are invited to apply for this honor: undergraduate seniors who received their first baccalaureate degree in August or December of 2017 or who will receive their degree in May 2018, and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.8.

From the students who apply, a selection committee will choose roughly 1% of the graduating class as WVU Foundation Outstanding Seniors. Next, the committee will invite 12 to 15 of the Outstanding Seniors to interview for the WVU Order of Augusta and six to eight students will be selected for this prestigious award.

The criteria of selection for both awards will include not only academic achievement, honors and awards but will also consider service, leadership and work experience. Two letters of reference are also required.

Recipients of the WVU Foundation Outstanding Seniors and the Order of Augusta will be presented with a certificate and pin to wear during graduation. In addition, the Order of Augusta recipients will be presented with an engraved medallion to wear.

Please apply at outstandingsenioraward.wvu.edu before 3 p.m. on Monday, February 26.

Please don’t hesitate to direct any questions about these awards or eligibility requirements to the Office of the Dean of Students at 304-293-5811.
