As a member of the VISTA program, you will serve full-time for one year, working to build the capacity of our programs to more effectively generate private sector resources, encourage volunteer service at the local level, and empower individuals and communities. You will have the chance to choose a service opportunity that fits your interests, whether it's in education, public health, climate, access to benefits, or another area that affects poverty.
By participating in activities such as fundraising, grant writing, research, and volunteer recruitment, you will gain valuable professional experience and leadership skills that will prepare you for a life of service in the public, private, or nonprofit sector.
As an AmeriCorps member, you will join over 7,000 other VISTA members who are united in our mission to lift people and communities out of poverty. This is a full time position with a range of benefits, including 2 semesters of free tuition and fees for WV public universities, a living allowance, health coverage, opportunity to still attend classes, and receive an end-of-service education award, you'll also have the support you need to make the most of your year of service.
