WVU Council for Gender Equity applications due March 31

The WVU Council for Gender Equity, which works to promote the equality of women in the University and local community, is seeking applicants for membership. Applications will be accepted through March 31.

Founded in 1977, the Council has upheld a presence throughout a sustaining commitment to the advancement of women of WVU.

The Council membership is composed of faculty, staff, students, as well as community members of all sexes and genders. It is a WVU-sponsored body invested in improving conditions of women in the WVU community. It also supports activities which highlight the concerns and accomplishments of women such as the Mary Catherine Buswell Award, the Women of Color Luncheon during Diversity Week, and Champagne for SANEs fundraiser for WV FRIS.

The Council is currently accepting applications for both full members and affiliate members for 2023-2024. Members meet monthly as a full council in addition to serving on at least one committee.
