WVU welcomes Huntington Bank as new campus banking partner
April 20, 2026
To offer special banking opportunities to WVU students, employees, and alumni, WVU has partnered with Huntington Bank as our new campus banking partner.
This partnership offers special banking perks for students, faculty, staff, and alumni, including waived maintenance fees on select checking accounts and discounts on mortgage loan closing costs.
“We are excited to welcome Huntington Bank as our campus banking partner,” said Gary Furbee, vice president of student life at WVU. “This partnership will provide students and employees alike with convenient banking support to enhance the WVU experience.”
Huntington will offer convenient on-campus services on our Morgantown campus, including Huntington ATMs and a staffed office that will help customers open accounts, answer questions, and offer financial education, which will open later this year. Also, Huntington will introduce, at a later date, a co-branded debit card so customers can show their WVU pride.
Additional benefits include financial literacy programs, internship and career opportunities through Huntington’s programs, and a $250,000 contribution from the bank to support WVU student scholarships.
“The University values campus partners like Huntington who understand the many roles WVU plays in the state,” said Erin Newmeyer, associate vice president for executive initiatives at WVU. “We look forward to working alongside Huntington on banking services and beyond.”
To learn more about Huntington, stop by Huntington’s table outside of the Mountainlair (weather permitting) on Monday (April 27) and grab a study snack before finals week. You can also visit the Huntington website for more information.
