Undergraduate course for Summer 2026: Public Mental Health (PUBH 458)

Public Mental Health (PUBH 458) is an online course open to all undergraduate students. There are no prerequisites or instructor permissions required to enroll.

This 3-credit hour course offered by the WVU School of Public Health is instructed by Ahmed Aboraya, MD, DrPH, and introduces students to the core principles of epidemiology, with a focus on their application to mental health. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the role and significance of mental health within the broader field of public health. The course presents current risk factors of major psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, mood, psychotic, personality and substance use disorders.
