Well-Being Adventure Series
The Well-Being Adventure Series offers WVU students a chance to connect, reflect and recharge through fun, low-key activities focused on overall well-being. Led by Adventure WV student staff, these experiences create space for conversation and community while exploring different dimensions of wellness.
Programs are subsidized for students, and while a small registration hold is required, it is fully refunded after attending, making participation essentially free.
Mindfulness and Meditation by the Pond
Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 | 5pm-7pm | Student Recreation Center
Take a break and slow down with a guided mindfulness and meditation session by the Rec Center ponds. Led by Adventure WV student staff, this relaxing evening includes light snacks and time to reflect, recharge and connect with others.
Bikes and Bites: Rail Trail Ride and Dinner
Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 | 4:30pm-9pm | Morgantown Adventure Outfitters
Enjoy a relaxed bike ride along the Monongahela River followed by dinner with fellow students. This beginner-friendly outing includes provided gear, scenic views and time to connect, unwind and reflect together.
Spring Wildflower Walk and Dinner
Thursday, April 16th, 2026 | 6pm-9pm | Arboretum
Take a leisurely walk through the Core Arboretum to see spring wildflowers in bloom before enjoying dinner with fellow students. This guided outing offers a chance to explore, unwind and reflect while connecting with others outdoors.

Appalachian Heritage Series
The Appalachian Heritage Series invites WVU students to explore the traditions, crafts and culture that define the region. These short, guided experiences offer opportunities to connect with local communities, try something new and learn more about Appalachia alongside fellow students.

Appalachian Storytelling Campfire Experience

Head to the WVU Outdoor Education Center for an evening of Appalachian storytelling around the campfire. This relaxed outing offers a chance to hear regional stories, unwind outdoors and connect with others.
Ramps and Rails Festival Trip
Saturday, April 25th, 2026 | 9:30am - 5:00pm | Outdoor Recreation Center
Travel to Elkins for a full-day experience celebrating Appalachian culture at the Ramp and Rails Festival. Enjoy local food, music and crafts while exploring a unique regional tradition with fellow students.
Mushroom Foraging with the West Virginia Mushroom Club
Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 | 10:30am - 3:00pm | Outdoor Recreation Center
Head into the woods to learn how to identify spring mushrooms and explore their role in local ecosystems. This guided outing offers a hands-on way to connect with nature and Appalachian traditions.
