Silent Witness Exhibit to honor domestic violence victims on display

The WVU Women’s Resource Center invites students, faculty, staff and community members to help honor those murdered by acts of domestic violence at the annual Silent Witness Exhibit, a collection of life-sized silhouettes that represent West Virginians who were murdered by a family member or intimate partner. The exhibit is free and open for public viewings in the Vandalia Lounge of the Mountainlair from Oct 13th - Oct 17th, 2025.

As part of a national initiative to raise awareness on the tragedy of domestic violence, viewers are encouraged to remember those who were murdered by acts of domestic violence, help raise awareness in our local communities, connect people to local resources, advocate to end domestic violence and legislate to hold abusers accountable and help end the vicious cycle of domestic violence.

The exhibit was funded in part by the Big XII Violence and Discrimination Awareness and Prevention Fund.
