Media dissemination request: Leadership Under Fire: Lessons from Ukrainian Veterans

Next Mon-Tue, Nov 17-18, the Ukrainian Mountaineers Association, the Ukrainian Community of Morgantown, and the U.S. Army Cadet Command (ROTC) will host three brave Ukrainian defenders, who will visit Morgantown to discuss their battlefield experience.
Senior Lieutenant Mykola Melnyk, a hero of the 2023 Ukraine’s counteroffensive, will give a seminar sharing his opinion and updates on the current situation at the Russia-Ukraine frontline, with a particular insight into a modern drone warfare. Mykola will be accompanied by his fellow veterans, Oleh Bonchynsky and Dennis Haida, who heroically defended the legendary Donetsk airport in 2014 and then freed renowned Bucha in 2024, being among the first witnesses of Russia’s atrocities against civilians.
The visit of Ukrainian warriors will include (though not limited to):
1. A welcome reception on Monday, 11/17 at 5 pm at 300 Orchard Crossing #1725, Morgantown, WV 26505 (bring a dish; pizza and beverages will be provided) and
- A seminar entitled “Leadership Under Fire: Lessons from Ukrainian Veterans” on Tuesday, 11/18, 9:30-10:45 am in the Rhododendron Room (2nd floor) of WVU’s Mountainair building.
