Learn how to safely intervene when a student is in distress

Mental Health 101 training for students focuses on the following:
- Current national mental health statistics in addition to WVU-specific characteristics
- Effective listening skills
- In-depth look at the services provided by the Carruth Center and the CARE Team
- Reviews the warning signs of suicide
- Allows participants the opportunity to discuss how to safely intervene with students who are in distress
All 60-minute student sessions will be held in the Mountaineer Room, 2nd floor #253 in the Mountainlair. Register at carruth.wvu.edu/outreach/mental-health-101-training for one of the following sessions:
- Wednesday, February 4, 5 - 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 3, 5 - 6 p.m.
- Monday, April 6, 5 - 6 p.m.
