Join us for the Fifth Annual Community Health and Wellness Expo April 26

The West Virginia University Health Sciences and Technology Academy (HSTA) Alumni and Ambassadors Association and Minorities Association of Pre-Healthcare Students (MAPS) will host the Fifth Annual Community Health & Wellness Expo on April 26 outside the WVU Student Recreation Center from 2 to 5 p.m.
This free, family-friendly event is open to the public and will feature more than 20 organizations dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and community connection. Attendees can take advantage of a wide range of interactive screenings, educational resources, and hands-on activities designed to support individuals and families at every stage of life.
Event highlights include:
- Oxygen screenings alongside a “healthy vs. unhealthy lung” interactive display
- Blood pressure checks and personalized nutritional screenings
- Diabetes prevention resources and guided exercise education
- Cholesterol, blood sugar, and on-site point-of-care testing
- Mental health and wellness resources, including take-home materials and stress-relief tools
- A Community Health Walk to encourage movement and connection
- Local vendors, including Jazzy’s Sweet Spot
- Community partners such as Old School WV Thrift Store and the Monongalia County Health Department
“Our goal is to provide an event where people can enjoy the festivities while receiving services and information that will be helpful to their personal health and wellness,” said Dr. Gregory Epps, Sr., advisor to the sponsoring student organizations.
The event is supported by the WVU Health Sciences Center, WVU Medicine, the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium, and other campus and community partners.
