Join the Morgantown Community Orchestra
October 13, 2025
Dust off your musical instrument from High School and join the Morgantown Community Orchestra (MCO) as fun and simple way to earn community service credits.
Membership for the MCO is open to non-music and music major students as well as youth, adults and senior citizens throughout the greater Morgantown community. Non-music majors are not required to take private lessons.
MCO welcomes intermediate and advanced level musicians who wish to share and develop their artistic talents while enjoying music-making in a friendly orchestral setting.
The repertoire this semester includes exquisite solo material for Flute and Oboe in the remarkable Peer Gent Suite by Edward Grieg. You will find the music of this great work familiar and exciting. Also, an arrangement of Holiday favorites will put you in the spirit for Christmas which is not that far away.
Rehearsals are Saturdays (weekly): 10 a.m. to Noon in the Canady Creative Arts Center Room 2070. A concert will be held Saturday, December 13 (time and location forthcoming).
The cost of registration may be waved for WVU students upon request, especially those earning community service points. Please contact Andrew Simonette at andrew.simonette@mail.wvu.edu and Daniel Zipin at dzipin1@gmail.com.
