Donations being accepted at residence halls and other locations for annual Blue and Gold Mine Sale

Donations for WVU’s Blue and Gold Mine Sale are now being accepted in all residence halls beginning today (May 4).

The sale, which is a long-time partnership between WVU, the Office of Sustainability, and the United Way, provides a second life to donated goods in a yard sale-style event while raising money for the local United Way.

Residence hall collection locations:

  • Brooke Tower and Braxton Tower – Brooke Tower lobby
  • Bennett Tower and Lyon Tower – M03 (gaming room)
  • Lincoln Hall – 134 (library)
  • Oakland Hall – café area
  • Summit Hall – 113 (vacant office)
  • Honors Hall – 120 (multipurpose room)
  • Seneca Hall – mailbox area
  • Dadisman Hall – 13 (study room on first floor annex)
  • Stalnaker Hall – 231 (piano room)
  • Vandalia Hall – second floor lobby in Vandalia Gold (front building)

 

Community collection locations:

  • Chateau Royale
  • Top of Falling Run Road
  • Area 81 (Mountaineer Station parking lot)
  • Grant Avenue near Summit Hall
  • College Park Apartments (Willey Street entrance)
  • Outside Boreman Hall

 

What can be donated:

  • Clothing, shoes, accessories
  • Purses, bags, luggage
  • Bedding, curtains, towels
  • Dishware, utensils, cups, pots, pans, kitchen appliances
  • Home décor
  • Electronics
  • School supplies
  • Furniture

 

What cannot be donated:

  • CRT televisions
  • CRT computer monitors
  • Mattresses and box springs

 

The sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, at Milan Puskar Stadium with $5 early bird admission from 7-9 a.m. and free admission from 9 a.m. to noon. From 3-5 p.m., all items are just $1, and admission is free.
