Office of Multicultural Programs fall semester event schedule

It is the Office of Multicultural Programs' goal to serve diverse students on campus in every way possible, and to educate the University community about multiculturalism, diversity and tolerance to cultivate a spirit of respect toward the world and its cultures. 

September 8 - “Mandela - Long Walk to Freedom: Nelson Mandela Remembered,” 6-8 p.m, Rhododendron Room, Mountainlair, African Student Association

September 14 - “The Last Supper” Iranian Film and Discussion Series, 7-9 p.m., Gluck Theatre, Mountainlair. This program will feature a discussion surrounding Iranian culture.

September 15 - “Alive and Kicking: A History of Swing Dance,” 7-9 p.m., Mountainlair’s Gluck Theatre, WVU Swing Dance Club

September 19 - Conversations with Cops, “Meet and Greet the Police," 6-8 p.m., Mountainlair Commons, Center for Black Culture and Research and Peer Advocate Program/Title IX

September 22- “Salesman,” Iranian Film and Discussion Series, 7-9 p.m., Mountainlair’s Gluck Theatre. This program will feature a discussion surrounding Iranian culture.

September 29 - “Indian Culture in Film”, 6-8pm, Mountainlair’s Gluck Theatre, Presented by the Association for India’s Development.

October 5- “Santoori,” Iranian Film and Discussion Series, 7-9 p.m., Shenandoah Room, Mountainlair. This program will feature a discussion surrounding Iranian culture.

October 20 - “Tellabration!” - A celebration of Appalachian storytelling, 2 p.m., Mountainlair’s Vandalia Lounge

October 20-22 - Mountaineer Week Craft Fair, Mountainlair Ballrooms. A celebration of Appalachian culture, art and music. (Oct. 20, Noon-8 p.m.; Oct. 21, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Oct. 22, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.)

October 23 - WVU Ghost Tour, 7-9 p.m., begins in Mountainlair’s Vandalia Lounge. An exploration of WVU‘s haunted buildings with a professional Appalachian storyteller.

October 31- “Hocus Pocus: Halloween is a Drag,” Gluck Theatre, 7-9 p.m., WVU Spectrum

November 3 - “Ceasefire” Iranian Film and Discussion Series, 7-9 p.m., Gluck Theatre, Mountainlair, This program will feature a discussion surrounding Iranian culture.

November 9 - “Lumumba; The Leader of Congolese Independence,” 6-8 p.m., Gluck Theatre, Mountainlair, African Student Association

November 14 - Conversations with Cops “Staying Safe at Home & Abroad,” 6-8 p.m., Mountainlair Commons, Center for Black Culture and Research, and Peer Advocate Program/Title IX

November 15 - “Cafe’ Setareh,” Iranian Film and Discussion Series, 7-9 p.m., Gluck Theatre. This program will feature a discussion surrounding Iranian culture

November 30 - "The Normal Heart: A Celebration of Life and Love,” 7-9:30 p.m., 202 Brooks Hall, Sociology and Anthropology

December 1 - "The Fifth Reaction" Iranian Film and Discussion Series, 7-9 p.m., Gluck Theatre, Mountainlair. This program will feature a discussion surrounding Iranian culture.
