Fiddle workshops offered by Community Music Program

Do you play the violin and want to try a different kind of music? Have you ever found yourself drawn to the sound of a fiddle tune that gets your foot tappin’? If so, please rosin up your bow and join us!

Four one-evening workshops will focus on traditional fiddle tunes and styles from the Appalachian region. The music will be taught by ear, keeping with the oral tradition; but sheet music can be provided upon request.

These Community Music Program workshops are open to intermediate level string players, ages 10-adult. Some knowledge of how to play the instrument is required, but Oldtime experience is not required.

The one-evening workshops happen Wednesday evenings September 13, October 11, November 15 and December 6 from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the WVU Creative Arts Center.
