Registration for the 2017 season of Adventure WV Orientation Trips Is now open! Help Adventure WV to spread the word to incoming WVU freshmen!
WVU’s Adventure Orientation Trips are peer-led adventure-based programs that prepare incoming WVU students for life at WVU and in WV. Trips offer participants diverse experiences and opportunities to learn about themselves, classmates, WVU and West Virginia. Trips take place the summer before your freshman year.
Adventure WV’s long-standing, peer-led, week-long, adventure-based trips that prepare incoming students for life at WVU and in WV. A wide variety of adventure-themed trip options are available, including activities like hiking, rock climbing, rafting, inflatable kayaking, backpacking, outdoor community service, Habitat for Humanity and AWV’s own high and low challenge course.
Each trip model incorporates a different a type of lodging; including rustic
yurts, air-conditioned cabins, tent camping at campgrounds, and backcountry
camping under tarps! All food is provided during the course of the trip.
Trips run Monday-Saturday all throughout the summer! Students can choose their
trip based on the trip model that appeals to them, and the trip dates that work
with their schedule.
College/Department Partnership Trips?
Adventure WV is offering over 8 college/department partnership trips this
summer through the Mountaineer Quest trip model! These trips are available to
any student enrolled in the specific college or department. In addition to all
of the regular trip components, students will have the opportunity to meet
faculty and staff and bond with other students in their college/department.
Both credit and non-credit based trips are available. For the credit-based
trips, 3 Credits are received upon completion of Fall semester requirements,
Meets GEF 6 requirement.
- Price? $95, or $0 for students who are Pell-Grant eligible.
